History
History of CBiDGP
The history of the Research and Supervisory Centre of Underground Mining dates back to the early 1960s. The fundamental business focuses of the company shaped two Centres, the integration of which led to establishment of an entity offering a wide range of testing, measuring, expertise and training works addressed to nearly all sectors of the economy.
1. The faction originating from UDT (Technical Inspection Office)
By decision of the director of the Silesian division of the Technical Inspection Office, on April 1, 1962 a specialist Inspectorate for Ropes and Slings of mining hoist devices seated in Katowice was established.
In 1970, the entity was integrated with the Group for Tests, Measurements and Expertises established in 1964 within the structures of the Regional Technical Inspection, thus forming the Laboratory Research Centre seated in Mysłowice-Brzezinka.
2. The appraisal faction originating from CLB (Central Research Laboratory)
Pursuant to the Ordinance no. 4/63 of the director of the Jaworzno-Mikołów Coal Industry Association of March 22, 1963, the Central Research Laboratory was established at "Wesoła" Hard Coal Mine. The new research unit established on the basis of the Mine's Central Chemical Laboratory was founded as a science and technology research facility of the Association.
In 1974, on the basis of the CLB electric power research section, the Centre for Measurements and Automatic Control was founded as a specialist facility providing technical services in electrical power engineering and automation for the mining industry.
Due to reorganization which took place in the mining department in the second half of the 1970s, the Central Research Laboratory was separated from the structures of "Wesoła" Hard Coal Mine in 1976, and began functioning as an "organizational unit" of "Ziemowit" Mine in Tychy-Lędziny.
3. Integration of both factions
In 1983, the Laboratory Research Centre was transferred from the power generation sector to the mining sector. By decision of the Minister of Mining and Power Generation Industry the entity was separated from the structures of the Technical Inspection Office, and on July 1, 1983 it was integrated with the Central Research Laboratory at "Ziemowit" Hard Cole Mine under the name Mining Devices Research and Commissioning Centre.
By decision of the Regional Mining Office in Tychy, in February 1985 the Central Laboratory was included in the group of mining facilities.
On January 1, 1992, as a result of division of "Ziemowit" Hard Coal Mine, the Central Research Laboratory was transformed into a state enterprise named the Research and Supervisory Centre of Underground Mining (CBiDGP) seated in Lędziny.
Apart from the Centre of Expert Assessment and Supervising the Mining Equipment and the Centre for Measurements and Automatic Control, the current structure of the company was made up by: the Centre for Research on Environment and Natural Hazards and the Centre for Staff Training and Competence Enhancement.
In 2000, as a result of ownership transformation, CBiDGP began functioning as State-Owned Company - Research and Supervisory Centre of Underground Mining ltd., and in 2009 it was entered into the list of companies of strategic importance for the national economy.
